Toy Watches

Watches, smatches.  Especially when it comes to plastic.  We thought this Toy Watch thing was going to fade away into obscurity, but now look at what they done did.  Their new offering has not only strong fluorescents that will pop against winter’s muted colors, but also a watch we can’t wait to own: a faux-gold, might-not-be-a-Rolex-but-might-not-cost-like-one-either.  The result is magical, not only for the diversity of product offering, but also for the price.  We are not advocating the substitution of a grown-up watch collection, but we are suggesting that you use them to add character to what would otherwise be a low-key outfit.  Inspired by the Rolex Submariner, Toy Watches were popular last year, but they’re still quite the rage, with the brights and golds impacting fashion scenes from Japan to London.  So yes, they’re acrylic, and the prices— generally two to three hundred dollars— can seem unjustified when you consider the materials, but we don’t advise you do that.  And besides, in the end, they are real watches, complete will all that real watch stuff.  Like bands, and second hands, and minute hands, and dates.  And, we admit, impracticality.  Visit Toy Watches for more information.
