MTVM Online Music Videos

November 17th, 2008

We think its quite a problem that MTV, music television, has to have a new online channel designated MTV Music.  Kind of flies in the face of the original branding as a music channel, no?  That being said, we must warn you that we think we’ve found the biggest time waster of all time wasters.  It’s a combination of a throwback to the days when music channels actually played videos and today’s on-demand technology.  MTVM is MTV’s new website where you can browse a library of 16,000 videos, and watch them as much as you want.  There’s the newest Lil’ Wayne video, a catalogue of Destiny’s Child hits where you can remember what the original members looked like, and our favorite section, Vintage Videos, where you can watch pre-Bobby Whitney, Prince, Tupac, De La Soul and other childhood heroes.  Forgive us for being giddy, but we’re had issues with music video access since the oppressive days of The Box and $4 videos for people that couldn’t afford cable.  Our one complaint? No Eddie Murphy “Party All the Time” or Deion Sanders “Must be the Money”.  But we’ve put in our requests.  Visit MTV Music to watch videos, and your productivity plummet.
