Ilus Dress Rental

December 3rd, 2008

We’re so tired of buying dresses.  And if Facebook, Picasa and Snapfish haven’t made our repeat outfits more traceable than they’ve ever been before, then the sky isn’t blue.  We’re certainly not celebrities, and we think its high time we stop spending like we are.  But that doesn’t mean we have to wear the same ole tired dress over and over again.  Nope.  Thanks to Ilus, a new concept, store and website that allows customers to rent dresses in 3, 5 and 7-day increments  (or, if you just can’t let go, buy them outright), those days are behind us.  So here’s how it works: you browse the website or visit the store, choose the dress you want, rent it, rock it, and return it.  All for a fraction of the retail price, along with a $10 cleaning fee to ensure that the next customer is as fresh and clean as you were.  Rentals start at around $60, and can cost upwards of $150.  Meaning, if you really wanted to, you could scheme with your same-sized friends, and hit up 3 consecutive events (with 3 different crowds, of course), divvy up the price, and pay as little as $20 per night.  Don’t worry, Ilus has enough variety for you to find something you like: designers like Foley & Corinna, Nicole Miller and Abaete? Check.  Sexy, stand-out, siren red organza minis?  Got that.  Long, flowy boho maxis? Available.  Your holiday party schedule suddenly looks so much better.  Visit Ilus for more information.
